Sakshi Sarda, LGPC
Sakshi (she/her) is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) who approaches healing through a holistic, mind-body lens. She believes that mental health must be understood within the broader context of each person’s lived experience—none of us exist in a vacuum.
She works with clients navigating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, identity exploration, and neurodivergence. While her primary focus is adults, she is currently expanding her work with children. Sakshi’s approach is flexible and collaborative, rooted in person-centered values. She integrates several therapeutic modalities—including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—tailoring her work to each client’s needs and goals.
Originally from Latur, a small city in India, Sakshi was shaped by both the stigma surrounding mental health and the strength of supportive communities. These early experiences inspired her to become a therapist and continue to guide her work. As an Indian woman navigating strong gender norms, she brings a personal understanding of cultural pressures and is committed to practicing with cultural humility and feminist values. Sakshi provides inclusive, affirming care and especially welcomes clients exploring cultural, gender, or identity-related challenges.
Sakshi holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology—with minors in Philosophy and Sociology—from Fergusson College in Pune, India. During her studies, she supported research focused on empathy and its impact on therapeutic and social relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, Sakshi enjoys tackling the New York Times mini crossword, playing board and card games, and taking long walks (often while people-watching). She's currently experimenting with growing plants and exploring meditation and mindfulness practices.
Sakshi values the power of community and believes that healthy, supportive relationships are essential to well-being. She works primarily with adults and has a particular passion for working with older adults.
Sakshi sees therapy as a unique space—one many of us have never had before. It's nonjudgmental, freeing, deeply empathetic, and grounded in radical acceptance. Her goal is to support clients in becoming more aligned with their values, strengths, and potential.
