Jake Corrigan (They/Them), LGPC

Jake is passionate about using counseling as a way to provide individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences with a judgment free space where they can learn more about themselves.

They believe that counseling - more than anything - is about empowering clients, and helping them to better understand themselves and their unique strengths, to help them work toward a better, more authentic life.

The therapeutic relationship is built, first and foremost, on the trust between client and counselor, and Jake believes that the best way to build this trust is to encourage open, honest, genuine communication, and an understanding that your counselor has your best interests at heart.

Jake is passionate about working with neurodivergent clients, as well as clients in the LGBTQIA+ community.  Using their experience working with ADHD and queer folks, they will help clients develop specific, meaningful coping skills. In addition to addressing your symptoms in a meaningful way, they will also work with you to help uncover unhelpful societal messaging surrounding them.

Jake is currently seeing adult individual clients. Their therapeutic philosophy pulls from Person-Centered, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential approaches, and emphasizes the importance of your unique lived experiences, identities, values, worldviews, and goals.

Jake was born and raised in Winooski, VT, a small town about 10 minutes away from Burlington. They received their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Champlain College in Burlington, VT, and their Master of Arts in Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.

When they have free time, or want to do some self-care, they like listening to music and audiobooks, walking their Cockapoo, Puck, and playing table-top roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons.
