Maimuna (she/her) is a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT) who is passionate about representation and cultural humility in the mental health field. She believes healthy relationships and mental health are essential for a healthy life.

Maimuna is a Bangladeshi-American woman who fluently speaks Bangla. She was inspired to enter the mental health field after seeing a need in her cultural and religious community. Maimuna enjoys working with teens, individual adults, couples, and families. As a Muslim and South Asian woman, she also seeks to serve the Muslim and larger South Asian community. Maimuna is passionate about representation and cultural humility in the mental health field. She believes healthy relationships and mental health are essential for a healthy life. 

Maimuna primarily practices from a narrative and solutions focused therapy perspective. She takes a collaborative approach with clients and believes they are the experts of their own stories. She strives to create a safe and non-judgemental space that empowers clients to create the change they wish to see and honors their social and cultural histories and values. Maimuna is also trained in Gottman Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2). Maimuna specializes in helping individuals and families with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and life transitions. She focuses on utilizing strengths and lived experience to help clients reach their goals. 

Born and raised in Maryland, Maimuna received her B.S. in Family Science from the University of Maryland before attending San Diego State University, where she completed her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Although she misses the beach, she is happy to be back in her home state, where she enjoys watching sports, baking, and exploring local coffee shops.
