Ayushi Tibrewala, LGPC
Ayushi (she/her) is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) dedicated to helping clients embrace their true selves and foster authentic connections with themselves and others. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is an important vehicle for personal growth.
Ayushi is a South Asian Indian woman with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Over the years, she has worked as a psychotherapist in diverse counseling environments, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she provided individual counseling, crisis interventions, and facilitated group counseling sessions, including LGBTQ+, interpersonal process, sexual health, substance abuse, and grief support groups.
Ayushi employs an authentic and engaging therapeutic style tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Her approach to care is person-centered, collaborative, strengths-based, and eclectic. She incorporates a variety of treatment modalities, including Relational-Cultural Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions, Mindfulness, Gottman Method for couples, and modern psychodynamic approaches. Grounded in a high level of empathy, you can expect nonjudgmental, inclusive, multicultural, trauma-informed, and compassionate reflections and feedback from Ayushi, who takes care to build trust and vulnerability in the therapeutic alliance.
Ayushi values clients as experts of their own lived experiences and considers how the interplay of their layered intersecting identities and cultural context relates to their counseling goals. She welcomes the opportunity to support individuals navigating significant life transitions or coping with overwhelming emotions. Ayushi specializes in helping adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, body image concerns, stress management, attachment issues, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, conflict resolution, suicidal thoughts, and grief.
During her leisure time, Ayushi enjoys exploring new music, traveling, staying active, and indulging in diverse cuisines at local restaurants. She brings this sense of exploration and curiosity into her therapeutic practice, creating a comfortable and inviting space for clients to embark on their journey of self-discovery and growth.
